Exhibit A: One can of cannellini beans that looked great in the store but were forgotten in your pantry for the past few months.
What: White beans with the shape of close relative, the kidney bean. Plays well with others, especially staple friends garlic and olive oil.
Solution: Make a tasty bean spread that impresses everyone. (Don’t worry I won’t tell them it only took you 5 minutes to make.)
Need:
Olive oil (to taste and desired thickness), one tablespoon garlic (also to taste) and a can of drained but not rinsed cannellini beans
Make it: Put beans and garlic in food processor, add olive oil while processing. Consistency should be like a hummus or thick spread and very smooth.
If this white bean spread met her perfect date tonight it would be any kind of bread but especially baguettes, artisan breads, pretzels and and Indian form of chips called “puri”.
Make the date of this Italian coupling complete with a fresh sprig of rosemary if you keep an herb garden, otherwise accessorize with a sprinkling of paprika.
Mies says: Make it healthy by substituting veggies for bread.
